Italian Tourist in FiDi Robbed of Camera, Passport While Distracted by Shake Shack Burger

The 35-year-old woman was eating at the popular eatery when her bag was snatched, according to police.

FINANCIAL DISTRICT, NY — An Italian tourist was enjoying her food at the Shake Shack inside of the Fulton Center when her purse was stolen, according to the New York City Police Department (NYPD).

On Saturday, Nov. 19, at about 1:20 p.m., the woman, 35, set her bag down by her seat at the popular eatery's location inside the large transit hub at 200 Broadway, police say. When she finished eating, she realized her belongings — her $300 Nikon camera, Italian passport, various bank and credit cards — were gone, according to the police report.

Police say no transactions were made on the woman's cards, and there is video surveillance at the Fulton Center.
