Watch Live: First Peregrine Falcon Egg Laid In Water Street Nest

The first egg of the season has been spotted in the falcon nest at 55 Water Street.

FINANCIAL DISTRICT, NY — The peregrine falcons of Water Street have laid their first egg of the year.

Adele and Frank, celebrity birds which have a huge following thanks to a live web cam that watches their nest that's perched on the 14th floor of the 54-story skyscraper at 55 Water Street, produced their first egg on Wednesday, according to the camera's moderators.

Last year, three baby falcons were born on the lower Manhattan perch.

Adele and Frank appear to be off to a slow start in 2017 -- by the end of March last year all three eggs had been laid.

Peregrine falcons have been among the most consistent tenants of 55 Water Street. The birds have lived outside the building since 1999 when the first couple, named Jack and Diane, moved in.

Since then, generations of birds have returned to the building.
