Man Jumps in Front of Train at Fulton Street Station: Officials
A man was seriously injured on Tuesday when he jumped in front of an A train during the morning commute.

FINANCIAL DISTRICT, NY — A man was seriously injured after jumping in front of an A train at the Fulton Street station during Tuesday morning's commute, according to police and fire officials.
According to the FDNY, they responded to someone struck by a train at the station at 7:54 a.m. The man was taken to Bellevue Hospital in serious condition, an FDNY spokesman said. A police source said that eyewitnesses in the station saw the man jump in front of the train as it entered the station.
Power was briefly shut off to the station as paramedics attended to the man. The power outage threw the morning commute into disarray as trains skipped Fulton Street.

According to the MTA, the station was back up and running at about 9:30 a.m., though A and C trains were running with delays and some A trains were continuing to make local stops.
Some riders were stalled in a subway car for over a half hour, according to commuters on Twitter. Others were evacuated from an A train in order to bring them back to the previous station.
