Model From Bahamas Still Missing 5 Weeks After Disappearing: NYPD
Jenelle Hollingsworth, 35, has still not been found after she went missing in the Financial District in late October.

UPDATE: This missing person has been found and is safe, the NYPD said Thursday, Dec. 5.
FINANCIAL DISTRICT, NY — An international fashion model who was last seen at a Manhattan hotel has still not been found more than five weeks later, police said Tuesday.
Jenelle Hollingsworth, 35, left the Fairfield Marriott at 100 Greenwich St. in October and was expected to be heading back to the Bahamas, where she's originally from, according to her family and police.

"It's frustrating and heart-wrenching at the same time because you don't know what is happening and because you don't get any information as to what is happening," her mother, Jan Hollingsworth, told Patch.
She was last seen Oct. 27 wearing a white headband, tan jacket, light blue shirt, blue jeans, tan boots and carrying a red suitcase, according to photos released by the NYPD. She's 5 feet 8 inches tall and 120 pounds, according to updated information from the police.

Her boyfriend, who she was living with in the United Kingdom before flying to New York, said authorities had done little to find her when she first went missing — echoing her mother's concerns.
The NYPD had begun looking for her Nov. 5, a department spokesperson previously said, though her mother said she first reported her daughter missing on Oct. 31 to the American embassy in the Bahamas. It is not clear when and how the information about Hollingsworth was relayed to the NYPD from the embassy.
"The information is so far and in between that you wonder if anybody is really working the case at all because it's just coming so slow," she said. "I guess it's me being so anxious to hear something."
Her loved ones said police are looking into obtaining data on her possible social media usage to find her. Authorities have told Jan Hollingsworth her daughter's purse was discovered in a garbage can in a city park.
Hollingsworth made headlines in the Bahamas for winning the Nu Woman Magazine television modeling competition in 2011 and was a part of Caribbean International Fashion Week.
A longtime friend, Jalan Harris, described Hollingsworth as a "lighthearted, young soul."
Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
