Moxy Hotel To Open In Tribeca In 2018, Records Show

TRIBECA. NY — The Marriott-owned hotel chain Moxy Hotels is planning to open a downtown location at 26 Ann St. next year, according to city records.

Moxy Hotels applied for a liquor license for a lounge and hotel bar last week for its new hotel at 26 Ann St., located near City Hall. The 26-story building is currently under construction and was purchased by Moxy developers in 2015.

The space at 26 Ann St., which also uses the address 143 Fulton St., was previously a three-story building before it was razed to make way for the hotel. Moxy Hotels did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Patch about when the downtown hotel would be opening. On its website, Moxy says it will have a downtown location "opening early 2018."

Moxy Hotels has spread throughout the U.S. while branding itself as a millennial-focused hotel chain. You get your room key and a drink at check-in, free Wifi is included, and the common spaces and rooms are created with design (and Instagram) in mind.

Moxy opened its first NYC location in Times Square in September.
