Multiple Cases Of Mumps Reported At Goldman Sachs
Multiple employees have contracted the contagious disease, according to a new report.

WALL STREET, NY — Multiple Goldman Sachs employees have contracted the mumps, according to a new report in Business Insider.
The news outlet reports that employees on one of the company's trading floors "showed signs of the disease this week" and that multiple employees had contracted the disease. The company asked people to get shots or visit the company's health center if they hadn't been vaccinated as a child, according to an anonymous source who spoke to Business Insider.
The mumps vaccine has been largely effective at eradicating the disease, although some outbreaks do still occur, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. CDC data shows that New York is one of just three states that has reported more than 100 cases of mumps to the CDC so far in 2018.

Mumps includes symptoms like fever, headache and swollen glands. People with the disease usually recover within a few weeks, according to the CDC, but complications in adults can lead to more serious issues.
A Goldman Sachs spokeswoman declined to comment.
