New York City Students Plan Anti-Trump Walkout

New York City students are planning another midday walkout to protest Donald Trump.

FOLEY SQUARE, NEW YORK — New York City students are planning a walkout on Tuesday to protest Donald Trump's recent executive orders.

The walkout was initially planned to oppose an executive order the president signed on Jan. 27, which banned travelers from seven predominantly Muslim countries, among other actions. The travel ban was stayed on Friday when a judge granted a temporary restraining order.

"Even though there was a temporary halt on the Muslim ban, we must remain vigilant," the walkout's organizers wrote on Facebook. Students are meeting at 12:30 in Foley Square on Tuesday.

"As NYC students we must rise up against bigotry, hatred, and prejudice," organizers wrote. "We are a part of this city. We are Muslim. We are immigrants. And we have a voice."

New York City students have organized multiple protests since Donald Trump was elected. In November, hundreds of students left class to march to Trump Tower and voice opposition to Trump.
