Pier 17 Summer 2019 Line-Up: Passion Pit, One Republic, Ben Folds

SEAPORT DISTRICT, NY — Pier 17 announced its summer concert series on Monday. Artists such as Passion Pit — which will kick off the season in May — as well as The Lonely Island, OneRepublic, Ben Folds, the Steve Miller Band, and Ben Harper will take the rooftop stage this summer.

Overlooking the East River and Brooklyn Bridge, Pier 17 opened last summer as a concert venue. During the winter, it was fitted as the city's first open-air rooftop ice skating rink, according to The Howard Hughes Corporation, which owns the pier.

"Following the success of our 2018 inaugural season, we look forward to welcoming New Yorkers back to the Seaport District for an unforgettable concert experience," Saul Scherl, president of the New York Tri-State Region, The Howard Hughes Corporation, said in a statement. "This season will once again feature first-class entertainment and unparalleled panoramic views of the Brooklyn Bridge, Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty."

Jean-Georges Vongerichten will open a seafood restaurant inside Pier 17's so-called "Pier Village" this summer, followed by openings of David Chang of the Momofuku Group, Helene Henderson of Malibu Farm and Andrew Carmellini.

Tickets go on sale March 1 at 10 a.m. on Ticketmaster. Pre-sale access is available Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 10 a.m. for Chase cardholders.
