Sant Ambroeus Latest High-End Eatery To Open In City

Sant Ambroeus is set to open its fourth NYC location.

TRIBECA, NY – Diners might be closing left and right, but the city's not going hungry for fine dining options.

A huge new branch of the upscale Italian restaurant Sant Ambroeus is opening next year at Vesey and West Streets in Brookfield Place, the chain confirmed to Patch.

Sant Ambroeus is known for drawing celebrities like Hilary Duff to its W. 4th St. location and the Olsen twins at a Madison Avenue branch, according to the New York Post. The chain, which originated in Milan, also has a restaurant at Lafayette Street in SoHo and three coffee bars in the city.

Parent company SA Hospitality agreed to a 15-year lease for a “7,000-square-foot, two-level dining room and coffee shop” at Brookfield Place, the Post reported. It is expected to open in the second quarter of next year.

“Sant Ambroeus has established itself in New York City’s most coveted locations, so its arrival Downtown is a true testament to the allure of Brookfield Place,” Michael Goldban, an executive for the shopping center, was quoted as saying in the Commercial Observer.

Sant Ambroeus’ menus offer a range of Italian staples, ranging from pasta with red sauce ($21) to veal “alla Milanese” ($48) and seared dover sole ($96).

News of the opening at Brookfield Place comes as the Cup & Saucer diner across town became the latest to close.
