Shakespeare & Co. Is Opening Up Another Store In Lower Manhattan
Shakespeare & Co. is opening a new shop at Brookfield Place in Lower Manhattan.

FINANCIAL DISTRICT, NY — Shakespeare & Co. is opening up a new shop at Brookfield Place in Lower Manhattan, Brookfield Properties announced Thursday.
Shakespeare & Co. will open up shop at 230 Vesey St. in Lower Manhattan by next January, per Brookfield Properties.
The new digs would be about 2,300 square feet with a cafe.

Shakespeare & Co. will host weekly book talks and larger monthly book events.
"We are thrilled to be opening our first downtown store at Brookfield Place," Dane Neller, the head of Shakespeare & Co. said in a statement. "We look forward to serving the Brookfield customer, which represents a vibrant mix of local residents, office tenants, and tourists."

Currently, Neller has three existing outposts in the Upper East Side, Upper West Side and in Philadelphia.
A Greenwich Village shop at Sixth Avenue and 11th Street is expected to open this year.
Brookfield Place is a sprawling office, dining, and shopping space in Lower Manhattan that features myriad art shows and live music throughout the year.
Michael Goldban, senior vice president of retail leasing at Brookfield Properties, said in a statement: "Shakespeare & Co. is a perfect fit for Brookfield Place,"
