Plumes of smoke from a Jersey City fire could be seen from New York City.

MANHATTAN, NY — A two-alarm fire in Jersey City may be seen from Manhattan, New York City Emergency Management tweeted.
NBC4 New York reported a fire at a scrap metal facility broke out Thursday afternoon, a reporter tweeted. NBC4 reported an FDNY fire boat could be seen about 5 p.m.
New York City Emergency Management - Notify NYC tweeted that residents in Brooklyn, Manhattan and Staten Island may be able to see or smell smoke.
