Taylor Swift Buys NYC Townhouse, Report Says
Taylor Swift is believed to have purchased a townhouse in Tribeca right next door to her penthouse.

TRIBECA, NY — The pop megastar Taylor Swift has paid $18 million for a new townhouse in Tribeca, according to the New York Post.
The tabloid reported that the "Blank Space" singer has purchased the home at 153 Franklin St., which was previously rented by Dominique Strauss-Kahn who resigned as the International Monetary Fund's managing director in 2011 after a sex scandal. Here's the home's realtor.com entry.
The former head of the International Monetary Fund lived in the upscale townhouse in 2011 while awaiting criminal trial on attempted rape charges. Strauss-Kahn lived there under strict house arrest after he was accused of assaulting a hotel maid at the Sofitel hotel in Manhattan. The charges were ultimately dropped when prosecutors cited "credibility issues" with the maid who reported the assault. While under house arrest, Strauss-Kahn paid $60,000 a month to live in the high-end pad.

Documents filed with the city show that an LLC named "Euro Tribeca LLC" paid $18 million for the property in a deal finalized on Monday. That LLC is linked to Jesse P. Schaudies, an attorney who has worked with Swift in the past, including on her real estate transactions.
Swift already owns the penthouse in the building next door at 155 Franklin St. The star-studded building was previously home to Orlando Bloom and Peter Jackson, before Swift bought the building's penthouse from Jackson for a reported $15 million.
