Tribeca Duane Reade Hit Twice in One Week: Here's What Shoplifters Stole
It's been a rough week for the Duane Reade at 250 Broadway, police say.
TRIBECA, NY — Two shoplifters got away with over $4,679 in drug-store loot — including perfumes, hair and beauty products, razor blades, infant formula and crew socks — from the Duane Reade at 250 Broadway, according to the New York City Police Department (NYPD).
In the first robbery, on Saturday, Nov. 12, at about 12:12 p.m., an assistant manager noticed a man walking through the aisles at the same time that items off the shelf were going missing, police said. The assistant manager, 26, checked surveillance video and saw the suspect — described as 5 feet, 8 inches with a cropped "Caesar" haircut — taking items off the shelf and stuffing them into his bags and his shirt, according to a police report.
The assistant manager then went back further on the tape, and saw the suspect snatching stuff two more times, police said.
