TRIBECA, NY — The three-decade-old Tribeca restaurant Bubby's is set to reopen Saturday after renovations over the summer, the restaurant announced.

Its Tribeca location at 120 Hudson St. underwent renovations that revamped its foyer, bar and front dining area. The kitchen's capacity was also increased.

"We are happy to reopen this location with lots of 'under the hood' improvements that diners won't even notice," chef and owner Ron Silver said in a statement. "Comfort food has always been my style and how I love to cook. With our new interior and modernized kitchen, guests can expect the same classic Bubby's menu and quality of service in revamped surroundings"

Bubby's had been closed since June for the upgrades. The restaurant reopens Nov. 2 just weeks before it celebrates 29 years in Tribeca after opening Thanksgiving Day in 1990.

"Serving New Yorkers — and diners from around the world — for three decades is a rare milestone," Silver said.

Bubby's serves up classics like fried chicken, pancake, meatloaf, and seasonal pies. It also has a location on Gansevoort Street near the High Line and six locations in Japan.

The Tribeca institution plans to stick around in the long run after the renovations. It just signed a 20-year lease this spring, according to a news release.
