Tribeca's Arcade Bakery Could Close In August: Reports
Arcade Bakery could close in August, unless someone buys it, according to reports.
TRIBECA, NY — A bakery nestled in the lobby of a Tribeca office building on Church Street could close come August if the owner can't find a buyer, according to reports.
Tribeca Citizen first reported Arcade Bakery's closure. Owner Roger Gural told the Tribeca news site he would close Arcade Bakery in August.
Located at 220 Church St. between Thomas and Worth streets, the bakery has been situated in a hallway of the building since 2014. The owner Gural has worked for other bakeries, including Bouley in the Flatiron District and Amy's Bread, Grub Street reported.

Gural has rheumatoid arthritis and is hoping someone will buy it, he told Grub Street.
"It's physically not possible for me to work in the way that I would like to work," Gural told Grub Street. "I’m trying to sell it, so it’s possible the bakery will stay open in some other form. ... I’m in the first steps, so I’ll see what turns out, but ideally there will be someone who is passionate about bread who would want to take it over. Because it’s a profitable business and a nice space."
