Tribeca's Frenchette Wins James Beard Award For Best In Nation

The Tribeca restaurant Frenchette won a James Beard award for best new restaurant in the nation.

TRIBECA, NY — Frenchette, which opened a year ago, was named the country's best new restaurant in the nation by the James Beard Foundation Monday.

Monday, the foundation announced Frenchette was the winner of the prestigious award, often known as the Oscars of the culinary world.

Frenchette, located at 241 West Broadway between White and Walker streets, is led by chefs Riad Nasr and Lee Hanson. The duo worked alongside Keith McNally, another well known restauranteur, in previous gigs. Frenchette was their first project without McNally, the New York Times wrote in a review last July.
