World Trade Center PATH Station To Close On Weekends For 2 Years
The station will shutter for Hurricane Sandy-related repairs on almost every weekend through 2019-20.

FINANCIAL DISTRICT, NY — The World Trade Center PATH station will shutter almost every weekend for the next two years to make Hurricane Sandy-related repairs, the Port Authority announced Wednesday.
From January of 2019 through December of 2020, the station will close on all weekends except for holidays to repair key switch and signal systems that were inundated with corrosive salt water when Hurricane Sandy pounded the city in 2012.
“Superstorm Sandy devastated this region, causing unprecedented damage to the PATH rail system,” said Port Authority Executive Director Rick Cotton.
