27-Year-Old Woman Found Dead in Alphabet City Public Housing

ALPHABET CITY, NY — A 27-year-old woman was found dead Wednesday afternoon in Lillian Wald Houses, according to the NYPD.

Police received a 911 call at approximately 1:42 pm. When they got to the apartment in the unit block of Avenue D., police officers found a 27-year-old female unconscious and unresponsive laying on the bed and covered in a blanket.

EMS responded and pronounced her dead at the scene. The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death and the investigation is ongoing. The identity of the deceased is pending proper family notification.
