Bad Santas Damage East Village Bar, Steal Liquor and Decorations During SantaCon

One and One bar owner Paul O'Sullivan estimates $5,000 in damage was done.

EAST VILLAGE, NY — Some naughty, imposter Santas are definitely getting coal for Christmas after allegedly raiding and robbing an East Village bar during Saturday's SantaCon, the Daily News reports.

One and One bar owner Paul O'Sullivan told the Daily News that a large group of Santas entered the unopened lower-level lounge of his bar, known as Nexus Lounge, at around 2 p.m. Saturday.

The Santas allegedly smashed glassware and stole Christmas decorations and booze. O'Sullivan said he even saw some Santas drinking straight from booze bottles while standing on top of the bar, and believes about $5,000 in damage was done.

O'Sullivan told the Daily News he had to get police to kick the Santas out.

The NYPD confirmed police responded to the location, but said no charges were filed.

A protest group called NYC Residents (NYCR) posted fake "SantaCon Cancelled" fliers around the East Village in the days leading up to the event. The party continued, with an estimated 23,000 Santas, but many East Villagers still voiced their disapproval of the event:
