Girlfriend Pushes Boyfriend Onto L Train Tracks in East Village Lover's Quarrel: Reports

The man suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Bellevue Hospital.

EAST VILLAGE, NY — A man wound up on the subway tracks early Monday morning after a dispute with his girlfriend turned ugly.

The man, 41, fell onto the trackbed at the Third Avenue subway station at 2:35 a.m., police said. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Bellevue Hospital.

The victim fell to the tracks after his girlfriend slapped him, according to DNAinfo. She fled the scene and has not been arrested.

The incident marked the second time in as many days that a person fell onto the train tracks. A man was arrested on Monday after pushing his friend onto the tracks at the 8th Street-Seventh Avenue Station in Chelsea on Sunday. The man, who was lodged under a train and suffered head and foot injuries, was also transported to Bellevue Hospital.
