New East Village Brasserie To Serve Classic French And Vegan Fare
Brasserie Saint Marc, slated to open Wednesday, will bring escargot and meat-free burgers to the East Village.

EAST VILLAGE, NY — Classic French dishes are coming to the East Village at a new restaurant on Second Avenue and St. Marks Place this week.
Brasserie Saint Marc opens Wednesday at 136 Second Ave., according to the New York Times.
Karin Agstam, who opened the eatery Station in Williamsburg, and head chef Frederick Piccarello, a veteran of the Sign of the Dove, are partnering on the Village's latest restaurant, the Times reported.

Classic French dishes from escargots to duck confit will be on the menu. It also features vegan burgers and Eastern European eats, the latter a nod to the history of the neighborhood, often called the Ukrainian Village.
