East Village Studio Apartments Available For $596 Per Month

A new 12-story apartment building in the East Village will have 22 permanently affordable apartments.

EAST VILLAGE, NY — A new affordable housing lottery for an apartment building in the East Village is offering studio apartments starting at $596 a month.

The new building, which is nearing completion at 751 E. Sixth St., will have 22 permanently affordable apartments, according to the developer. In total, the 12-story building will have 110 housing units, with the remaining 88 apartments available at market rate.

The affordable housing units reserved in the building include eight studios available at $596 a month, available only to those making a maximum of $29,240, according to NYC Housing Connect. The building also has multiple one-bedrooms available ranging form $640 to $980 a month.

The apartment building is replacing what were formerly one-story storefronts, which were completely demolished to make way for the new building.
