Rice+Lipka Architects have submitted revised plans to the city's Landmarks Preservation Commission to expand and modernize the Choicirciati Cultural Center. The 64 E. Plans to modernize the facade were initially approved in 2016 and include adding a glass enclosure with aluminum window mullions. The design initially called for a dark gray coating on the mullions, but in response to initial concerns voiced by Community Board 3, the architects lightened the design and opted for smaller, less invasive signage, according to plans submitted with the Landmarks Preservation Commission.

An overhaul of the lobby incorporates a slated, white oak wall that serves as the vestibule's focal point and wraps around the staircase, ticket counter and elevator, plans show.
