Fire Breaks Out In East Village Apartment

The fire is believed to have started in the bathroom of a second-floor apartment, officials said.

EAST VILLAGE, NY — A small fire broke out in an East Village apartment on Wednesday afternoon but was quickly extinguished, according to the FDNY.

The fire started in a second-floor apartment at 126 E. Third St., authorities said. An FDNY spokesman said that no one was injured in the blaze.

Fire officials said the blaze was under control at about 1 p.m., about 20 minutes after they responded to the scene.
