Harvey Weinstein's Severed Head Painted In East Village Mural

New street art in the East Village shows Harvey Weinstein's decapitated head held aloft by Kathy Griffin.

EAST VILLAGE, NY — New street art in the East Village shows the infamous Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein's severed head held aloft by Kathy Griffin.

The mural, completed this week by the NYC street artist SacSix, is inspired by an earlier photo shoot with Griffin in which the comedian posed with a bloody, fake head of President Donald Trump. Griffin was harshly criticized for the photo shoot, and lost her gig as co-host of CNN's New Year's Eve show as a result.

The East Village street art, located in the park at the corner of East First Street and Houston Street, swaps Trump's head for Weinstein's.

Weinstein has been accused by dozens of women of sexual harassment and assault. Since two explosive reports in the New York Times and the New Yorker detailed decades of accusations against the producer in October, men and women in numerous industries have come forward with their own accounts of assault and harassment by Weinstein and other powerful men.

SacSix completed the wheat paste mural with support from the Center-fuge Public Art Project and the First Street Green Art Park. SacSix's mural is one of more than a dozen painted on the walls of the First Street park.
