Ko Restaurant Will Raise Prices And Go Tip Free

The high-end East Village restaurant will eliminate tipping.

EAST VILLAGE, NY — The high-end East Village restaurant Ko will eliminate tipping, the restaurant announced in February.

Ko, part of the Momofuku restaurant group, will re-open after a hiatus on Thursday with increased prices, according to its website. Ko's website lists the new price for its tasting menu at $255, including service. With beverage pairings, the tasting menu's new tip-included price will run you another $195.

Eater New York first reported Ko's decision to join the tip-free movement.

The restaurant, which has earned itself two Michelin stars and is also a New York Times critic's pick, was founded by the restaurateur David Chang of the Momofuku group.

Ko is located at 8 Extra Place.
