Man Shot in East Village Brawl Outside Biker Gang Clubhouse
A 25-year-old man was shot and injured in a dispute over parking outside Hells Angels' headquarters.
EAST VILLAGE, NY — A 25-year-old man was shot and injured in a brawl outside the Hells Angels’ clubhouse in the East Village early Sunday morning.
The injured man was driving with friends by the motorcycle club’s East Village headquarters when he stopped to move an orange cone that was blocking a parking spot, an NYPD spokesman told Patch. (The Google Maps screenshot above shows the gang's headquarters with cones lining their part of the street.)
A member of Hells Angels confronted the man, who was joined by three other friends from inside his car, police said. Two other men left the clubhouse to join the dispute, which escalated into a fistfight on Third St. near 1st Ave. Police said the brawl ended when one of the gang's members shot the man in the stomach.

He was driven to the hospital by his friends, and police said Monday morning that he is in stable condition and expected to survive.
The NYPD spokesman could not confirm the man's identity to Patch, but the New York Post identified him as David Martinez. The spokesman told Patch he was affiliated with the biker gang.

The Post, citing police sources, reported that the gunman is suspected of being a “prospect” of the biker gang, and not a full-fledged member.
