Mediterranean Seafood Restaurant Opens In The East Village
Lamia's Fish Market opens on Avenue B.
EAST VILLAGE, NY — A Mediterranean seafood restaurant opened on Avenue B.
Lamia's Fish Market opened this month on Avenue B, serving up Mediterranean seafood in a 175-seat eatery.
The restaurant includes a bar, a raw bar and a private dining room, according to the New York Times.

Its owner, Lamia Funti, told the Times, "It took us two years to build."
Funti worked at Le Souk, which was previously sited where the new seafood eatery is located, at 47 Avenue B between East Third and Fourth streets. Funti is married to the owner of the building and Le Souk, Marcus Andrew, per the Times.

The executive chef is Alan Vargas, who has opened restaurants including The Grange and Monarch Room and worked as head chef at Masa in the Time Warner Building.
