MTA To Host East Village Town Hall On L Train Shutdown
Top transit officials will discuss the shutdown with locals at Middle Collegiate Church on Monday, Sept. 17.

EAST VILLAGE, NY — Locals have another chance to grouse to transit officials about next spring's L train shutdown — which will displace some 225,000 straphangers who rely on the line to travel between Brooklyn and Manhattan on a given weekday.
The MTA and the city's Department of Transportation will host the latest in a series of town halls on the 15-month project to repair the Hurricane Sandy-damaged Canarsie Tunnel kicking off in April, tonight at the Middle Collegiate Church at 112 Second Avenue in the East Village.
The meeting will run from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
