New Luxury Office Building Set To Rise On St. Marks Place
Developers razed the four-year home of Papaya King and plan to erect a five-story office building on the East Village block.

EAST VILLAGE, NY — The developer who demolished the structure that housed the East Village Papaya King has filed plans to erect a five-story, luxury office building in its place, according to permits filed with the city's Department of Buildings.
Real Estate Equities Corporation razed the single-story structure that Papaya King called home for four years at 3 St. Mark's Place in March.
Now, the developer has filed permits for a 78-foot tall building with just over 29,000 square feet of commercial space, according to plans submitted with the city.

The ground floor and cellar will occupy retail space, while the remainder of the building will focus on office space.

Tenants will have access to a lineup of swanky amenities including a fitness center, golf simulator, bicycle storage and a rooftop terrace, plans show.
