Nine Inch Nails To Perform Surprise Concert At Webster Hall Monday Night
The band will perform at the storied East Village music venue, days before it closes for renovations.

EAST VILLAGE, NY — The rock band Nine Inch Nails is playing a surprise concert at Webster Hall on Monday night, according to the historic entertainment venue.
The legendary group will perform on Monday night in the East Village, just days before Webster Hall is set to close its doors for renovations under new ownership in August. "The length of the renovation period is unknown at this time and the exact scale of renovation is TBA," a Webster Hall executive told Patch in an email.

Gerald McNamee, the nightclub's longtime general manager, previously posted on Facebook about the changes coming to Webster Hall under its new owners.
"Sad but true, the legendary and world-famous Webster Hall has been sold and will close as we know it," he wrote on Facebook. "It will be closed for an undisclosed period of time for demo, reno and transition to corporate ownership under Barclays/AEG/Bowery Presents. I highly recommend that you all stop by before the end of this era to pay your respects to the Ballingers and the building for providing us with a lifetimes worth of memories."

The landmark venue venue has been open and hosting entertainers since 1886, according to its website. In total, the massive space can host in 2,500 people throughout three different venues.
