Plado Tasting Bar Arrives In The East Village
A Mediterranean-influenced tasting bar has arrived in the East Village.
EAST VILLAGE, NY — A Mediterranean-influenced tasting bar has arrived in the East Village.
Plado Tasting Bar, with tapas style dishes, Mediterranean flavors, and seasonal ingredients, has opened on East Second Street between avenues A and B.
Led by chef German Rizzo, the new tasting bar features various plates like pumpkin fritters, pickled fennel, chorizo, crispy cornish hen, and seafood dishes like seared tuna, charred octopus, and salmon.

Rizzo, of Turin, Italy, has worked at Michelin-starred Era Ora in Cophenhagen, Denmark and La Centrale in Miami. He also owns Vite Vinosteria in Astoria, Queens.
Plado is located at 192 E. Second St.

The two-level eatery is open Monday through Wednesday 4 p.m. to midnight; Thursday and Friday noon to midnight; and Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. to midnight. Brunch hours are Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
