A new recording of the live performance from 1968 will be released in April.

EAST VILLAGE, NY — The legendary rock band The Who will release a new album in April featuring a recording of their live 1968 performance at the historic Fillmore East theater in the East Village.
The Fillmore East, previously located at 105 Second Ave., was a short lived music venue where some of the most iconic rock bands of the late 1960s and early 1970s performed. Along with The Who, performers including Jimi Hendrix, the Grateful Dead and the Allman Brothers Band all made stops at the Fillmore East, known as "The Church of Rock and Roll."
The Who announced that their latest album would be released April 20. The recording comes from their two-night performance on April 5 and 6 in 1968. The second night of the performance was fully restored and mixed by Who sound engineer Bob Pridden, the band said in a statement.
