Mom Pushing Kids In Stroller Killed In Amagansett Hit-And-Run: PD
Yuris Murillo Cruz, 36, of Amagansett, was killed, according to the East Hampton Town Police Department.
AMAGANSETT, NY — A mother pushing her two children in a stroller in Amagansett Wednesday morning was struck by a driver who sped away, police said.
The mother was identified as Yuris Murillo Cruz, 36, of Amagansett. Her children, ages 1 and 4, were airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital. Police said their injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Police said the driver, Mark A. Corrado Jr., 28, of West Babylon, was arrested. He was driving a 1997 Dodge pickup truck at 11:42 a.m. when he crashed into Cruz on the eastbound shoulder of the Montauk Highway east of the Old Montauk Highway.

Corrado did not stop and continued east before abandoning the pickup in a wooded area on Gilberts Path in Amagansett and fleeing, police said. Officers found the vehicle and Corrado surrendered to East Hampton detectives at the Suffolk County Police Department's First Precinct in West Babylon on Wednesday afternoon, police said. He was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an incident without reporting, a felony, police said.
