Amagansett Art Exhibit to Open August 8
Artists from the community have donated work to raise money for the Amagansett Historical Association
The Amagansett Historical Association has curated the third annual “Amagansett Art: Across the Years” which will open with reception on Friday, August 8 from 5 to 7 in the evening. The exhibition will be on view in the Jackson Carriage House through September 14.
The art has been created by artists who have lived and worked in Amagansett, or who have drawn inspiration from the environs. The work has been donated will be for sale. Proceeds from the sale will benefit the Amagansett Historical Association.
The Amagansett Historical Association promotes appreciation for the role the community has occupied in the East End’s legacy as an arts colony and works to preserve historical buildings within the community—such as the Jackson Carriage House and the Coast Guard and Life Saving Station on Atlantic Beach.

A diverse array of artists will be represented in the show which was curated by Elena Prohaska Glinn, Nina Gillman, Jeanie Trusty Stiles and Isabel Carmichael. A few of the artists included in the exhibition include Scott Bluedorn, Ralph Carpentier, Elliott Erwitt, Sue Gussow, Toby Haynes, Elizabeth Levine, Claire Nivola, Joe Pintauro, Ken Robbins, Anne Seelbach and Michelle Stuart.
Admission to the reception is free, but donations are encouraged. The exhibit can also be seen from 2 until 6 in the evening every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday through Labor Day and thereafter on Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m., or by pre-arranged appointment.
