Dine With The Barefoot Contessa, Ina Garten, For A Great Cause

You can enjoy a three-course dinner with Ina tonight in East Hampton.

EAST HAMPTON, NY – “The East End is not just a place I visit, it’s where I live,” says Ina Garten, aka The Barefoot Contessa, who along with her husband, Jeffrey Garten, are the honorary co-chairs of the Nature Conservatory’s Summer Event for Clean Water on Long Island tonight, June 25.

The event is being held at 7 p.m. at The Center for Conservation in East Hampton.

The summer benefit will raise funds and awareness for clean water on Long Island. “We understand that nitrogen pollution from sewage harms our bays and harbors–with devastating impacts on wetlands, seagrass, fish and shellfish. The problem is only expected to get worse unless action is taken,” said Nancy Kelley, Executive Director of The Nature Conservancy on Long Island. “We are committed to restoring swimmable, fishable and drinkable waters locally, and we hope to share knowledge with our colleagues across the nation and the globe as we tackle this worldwide crisis together.”

Ina will be there because as she says: “I feel strongly about maintaining what’s beautiful here–not just on the surface–but what’s under the surface: the quality of our water and land.”

So you can enjoy cocktails and dine in true Hamptons style — with recipes from Ina’s beloved cookbooks, using for the most part sustainably-raised fare, including Montauk-raised oysters to produce from local farmers such as Satur Farms and Jim Pike’s Farm Stand.
