East Hampton High School Wrestling Team to Host League Wrestling Tournament
The tournament will take place this Saturday.

The East Hampton High School Wrestling Team will conclude their regular season by hosting the Section XI 2015 League 6 Championship Wrestling Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 7.
The eight high school teams that will take to the mats include Amityville, Bayport, John Glenn, Miller Place, Mt. Sinai, Shoreham Wading River, Westhampton, and East Hampton.
The young men will be competing in fifteen weight classes: 99, 106, 113, 120, 126, 132, 138, 145, 152, 160, 170, 182, 195, 220, and 285 pounds.

Some matches will feature All-County and All-State wrestlers.
“This is the first time in 14 years that East Hampton has hosted the Leagues,” stated Coach Steve Tseperkas. “Even though we may have a small squad, we will be competitive in a number of weight classes.

According to Tseperkas, the top four wrestlers from each weight class will move on to the County Tournament held at Hofstra University on Saturday Feb. 14 and Sunday, Feb. 15.
The Preliminaries will begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by the quarter finals.
The semi-finals are slated to start at 2 p.m., consolations at 4:30 p.m., and finals at 6 p.m.
The tournament will conclude with the awards ceremony.
The master of ceremony for the day’s events will once again be Steven Tekulsky.
Admission, which is set by Section XI, is $6.
T-shirts will be sold for $15.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served by parents and student volunteers in the school’s cafeteria.
All proceeds from the sale of t-shirts and food will benefit the EHHS wrestling program.
