East Hampton School Budget Vote Tuesday: What You Need To Know

EAST HAMPTON, NY — East Hampton voters will head to the polls Tuesday to cast their ballots in the 2021 to 2022 school budget and school board candidate vote.

The proposed $75,157,245 2021 to 2022 budget reflects a 4.41 percent budget-to-budget increase and a 2.87 percent increase in the tax levy, which is within the tax levy cap, the district said.

"We are mindful of the priorities our community has established to maintain programs and the appropriate staffing for our students, and we believe it is most important to keep the interests of our taxpayers in the forefront of our thinking. The Board of Education and I believe we can achieve these goals," said Richard Burns, superintendent of schools. "I hope you will join us in continuing to provide a quality education to all East Hampton’s children."

Incumbent BOE members Christina DeSanti, Sarah Minardi and Justine O'Mara Limonius are running unopposed to fill three open seats.

The annual school district budget vote and election of school board members will be held on Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the East Hampton High School cafeteria, located at 4 Long Lane in East Hampton.
