Humor: No Truth to New Erosion Beach Plan

There is no truth to the fact the East Hampton town board ever even thought of doing this.

There is absolutely no truth to the idea that the East Hampton Town Board has floated the idea to unfloat and strip huge tanker and container ships on Montauk beaches to help save the beaches and local motels from erosion.

The United States Army Corps of Engineers never proposed this idea as a backup to their sandbag plan to save East End beaches.

There is no truth to the idea that local political forces thought this would be both a jobs creating plan and a way to curb over-enthusiastic millennials from abusing Montauk during the summer season.

Although all sorts of crazy things have been said and done in the last few years, stripping ships on the beaches of Montauk has yet to be brought up for discussion, (at least I hope so.)

No one has suggested this is a 40-year plan to sacrifice a few years to preserve the integrity of the beaches as the ocean levels rise do to global warming and glaciers and ice caps melting over the next few decades.

However should this plan be proposed I will oppose it with all my heart in order to Save Montauk.
