EAST HAMPTON, NY — Own a piece of history for $38.995 million now that Jackie Kennedy’s East Hampton childhood home is on the market.
Kennedy spent summers here as a child when her grandfather, John Vernou Bouvier Jr., owned the East Hampton estate, called Lasata, which, according to cntraveler.com, is the Native American word for “place of peace.”
Today is it owned by fashion designer Reed Krakoff, who has put the 10-bedroom estate up for sale.

The house itself is about 100 years old and has been impeccably restored by Krakoff and his wife, Delphine, an interior designer, who bought it in 2007 for $25 million, reported the Wall Street Journal.
The house, designed in 1917 by noted architect Arthur C. Jackson, along wth a one-bedroom guesthouse, a pool, and a two-bedroom pool house, is situated on 7.15 exquisitely landscaped acres according to the Corcoran Group's website.
