Lionel Richie Is Coming To The Hamptons

The music superstar will be headlining the annual Apollo Theater fundraiser at Ron Perelman's estate

East Hampton, NY - Will there be dancing on the ceiling at Ron Perelman’s East Hampton spread this summer? We are betting the answer is a resounding yes.

For the past few years undeniably the hottest invite to snag each summer takes place at Apollo board member Ron Perelman’s lavish Georgica Pond spread in East Hampton. It’s the annual A-listers’ Apollo Theater Relief Raiser event, which is jammed with celebrities galore. Think Jon Bon Jovi, Paul McCartney, Howard Stern, Mary Kate Olsen, Jimmy Fallon, Robert De Niro and Jack Nicholson.

How about adding Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx? They were spotted together for the first time publicly at Perelman’s fourth annual fundraiser — and reports of their unconfirmed romance are still rampant.

This year, the scheduled event, the seventh, will take place on August 20 and Grammy winner — and Nicole Richie’s dad — Lionel Richie will be the musical headliner.

Richie had been performing at his residency at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas and will come back to the show on September 21, about a month after his Hamptons gig.

Last year, Christina Aguilera performed and politicos such as New Jersey Governor Chris Christy and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio were spotted hanging, dancing, dining and singing with the stars.

There are tickets for this exclusive event. According to the New York Post, in 2015 prices ranged from $15,000 to up to $250,000 for premiums tables — raising over $4 million for the Apollo Theatre education fund last year.
