Man Charged With Felony DWI, Having Cocaine In East Hampton: Cops
He had a bag of cocaine on the floor and in console; an empty plastic bag with cocaine residue was stuck to his registration card, cops say.

EAST HAMPTON, NY — A Rocky Point man was charged with felony driving while intoxicated and cocaine possession in East Hampton recently.
According to East Hampton Town Police, Kody J. Zimmer, 30, was arrested on May 25 at 1:19 a.m. on Montauk Highway near Daniels Hole Road in Wainscott and charged with operating a motor vehicle with .08 of 1% or more alcohol/prior conviction within 10 years, a felony; fifth degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, cocaine, 500 milligrams, a felony; and driving while intoxicated, previous conviction of designated offense within 10 years, a felony.
Zimmer was driving a 2009 GMC west on Montauk Highway near Daniels Hole Road when he failed to maintain his lane of travel by crossing the solid yellow lines and then crossing the solid white line, police said.

Upon contacting Zimmer, it was determined that there was the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath, his speech was slurred, his eyes were bloodshot and glassy, and he was observed to be unsteady on his feet; he also performed poorly on all standard field sobriety tests, police said.
Zimmer had a prior conviction of driving with .08 of 1% or more alcohol in blood in 2010, police said.

He was also found with two plastic bags of cocaine in plain view, one located on the rear floor, and the other in the center console; one empty plastic bag containing cocaine residue was located stuck to his registration card, police said. The cocaine weighed more than 500 milligrams, police said.
Cash bail was set at $500, police said.
