Man Hits Person In Head With Baseball Bat: Cops

He's facing a felony charge, police say.

MONTAUK, NY — A Montauk man was arrested after he hit someone in the head with a baseball bat, police said.

According to East Hampton Town Police, Hector Jaime Ventura-Figueroa, 31, was arrested on Sept. 29 at 1:04 a.m. on W. Lake Drive in Montauk after he hit the person across the head with a wooden baseball bat, causing a raised welt and significant injury.

He was arrested and charged with second degree assault, intent to cause physical injury with a weapon or instrument, a felony, police said.

Bail was set at $500 cash or $1,000 bond; he was remanded to the custody of the Suffolk County Sheriff's Department, police said.
