EAST HAMPTON, NY — More than 2,000 East Hampton residents have been received coronavirus vaccinations thanks to the town's collaboration with Stony Brook Medicine and Suffolk County officials, Town Supervisor Peter Van Scoyoc said.

The town hosted three vaccination clinics over the past few days. On Friday, a clinic was administered by Stony Brook Medicine at the East Hampton Center for Humanities — the former Child Development Center of the Hamptons — for people 65 years and older, with 1,200 East Hampton seniors vaccinated.

On Saturday, Suffolk County provided dosages to the town for two additional clinics held at the Wainscott center. To kick off the day, 340 teachers, emergency workers, grocery workers, and volunteers returned to get the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine, following an event on February 13. On Saturday afternoon, another 340 residents with underlying health conditions were able to get the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine, Van Scoyoc said.

“Getting our residents vaccinated is the most important effort the town can undertake right now. I want to express my gratitude to Stony Brook Medicine for using our facility to administer vaccines to our seniors and County Executive Steve Bellone for supporting our efforts by supplying vaccines for the town to administer," Van Scoyoc said. "We look forward to continuing our partnership to ensure that all of our residents have access to Covid-19 vaccines and to put this year-long nightmare behind us."

Van Scoyoc also thanked the volunteers and town staff that worked to make the vaccination events possible.

East Hampton residents can pre-register for future events at the town's new vaccination hub here.
