New Take Out Seafood Spot, Hooked, Opens In Montauk
Hooked is the dream of Brian and Gillian Mooney, well-known on the Montauk culinary scene for years.

MONTAUK, NY — The dream of two longtime familiar faces on the Montauk culinary landscape is set to become reality.
A new seafood take out spot, Hooked, will open in Montauk on May 1, in the space formerly occupied by Red Hook Lobster Pound, located at 34 South Etna Avenue.
For Brian and Gillian Mooney, the eatery is a labor of love. He's a 24-year veteran of the iconic Clam Bar at Napeague, an "expert shucker with tight relationships with local fisherman, availing him of the freshest local seafood right off the boats," according to a release.

Gillian has been a co-owner of Montauk's deli, Herb’s Market for more than a decade.
Hooked features an open kitchen with counter service and picnic tables outside on the patio, while the interior space has a beach-like feel, with warm reclaimed woods and nautical décor, the owners said.

The menu features seafood, salads and land fare. The menu also includes lobster rolls, tomatoes stuffed with lobster salad, lobster mac and cheese, or a whole steamed lobster.
The “locally hooked” section of the menu features grilled tuna, swordfish or mahi mahi, a tuna poke bowl and fish tacos.
Meanwhile, the “locally dug” section features Montauk pearl oysters, local clams and local steamers.
The menu also includes fried seafood platters, burgers, BBQ baby back ribs, grilled chicken sandwiches, veggie burgers and a kids' menu, as well as desserts and beverages such as water, juices and sodas.
Hooked will be open seven days in season from 11: 30 a.m. to 8 p.m. For further information call (631) 668-2111 or click here.
