Pandemic Leaves East Hampton Mother 'In Desperate Need'
A GoFundMe was created to help a couple struggling in the pandemic to care for twins; their situation is "dire," the babies' godmother says.

EAST HAMPTON, NY — Parents with young twins have been hit hard by the pandemic and the community is reaching out to help.
A GoFundMe page, "Help Local Mother In Desperate Need," was created by Shannon Nicole in East Hampton.
"This pandemic has affected many people in this country, including new parents Mackenzie and Jesiel," she wrote. "Last April, they became the proud parents of twin boys Lucca and Lorenzo, two boys who quickly filled their hearts with love unknown."

The couple was saving for the boys' arrival when the pandemic hit, Shannon, the twins' godmother, said. " Work was scarce for Jesiel. Although he was able to pick up some odd jobs to keep things afloat, their reserves quickly ran out. The boys have some special dietary needs that they are currently struggling to provide."
Rent is a concern, as well, she said.

"They have applied for some financial assistance; however, the queue is long and they need some relief today. Please find it in your heart and in the holiday spirit to contribute to them. Every dollar will be spent to better their situation, as it is dire," she said.
