At the second annual Comic Extravaganza fans met comic artists and writers in East Hampton.

EAST HAMPTON, NY — The fans came out to get up close and personal with their comic book idols at the second annual Comic Extravaganza.

Held in East Hampton, the free event was organized by Nancy Silberkleit, the co-CEO and publisher of Archie Comic Books, who witnessed firsthand the passion people have when it comes to comic books. She says some fans arrived on bikes and some came from as faraway as Rochester, NY.

It was a day of family fun as many people dressed in costumes to celebrate their favorite comic characters.

“Love for comic books is often passed down from parent to child. One family came with two sets of twins,” Silberkleit said.

The good news for East Hampton is that Silberkleit says she is already planning the third annual event. The only change is that it will be held indoors because even superheroes can’t control the weather.
