Pierson High School Varsity Basketball Teams Earn State Awards

The Pierson High School boys and girls varsity basketball teams both recently received scholar-athlete team awards from the New York State Scholar Athlete Award program.

The Sag Harbor teams received the awards because the students on the team all received the required grade-point average of 90 percent or better.

“Pierson High School and the Sag Harbor community are very proud of the efforts of all the student athletes on the basketball teams as they strive for excellence on the court and in their academic pursuits,” Donnelly McGovern, director of athletics, health, wellness, personnel and physical education supervisor said.
