Police Blotter: Southold

A two-year-old boy airlifted to Stony Brook Hospital and a loud and disorderly woman arrested for disturbing the neighborhood

On August 1, at approximately 9:56 a.m., the Southold Police responded to a call from the Laurel Links Country Club in Laurel reporting that a two-year-old boy had been injured with a golf club.

The boy and his sister had been playing when she accidentally struck her brother in the head with a golf club. The Mattituck Fire and Rescue responded to the emergency call and attended to the boy while awaiting a medevac helicopter to transport him to Stony Brook University Hospital for evaluation.

On August 3, at approximately 9:27 p.m. the Southold Town Police responded to a call reporting a woman was standing outside 128 Ludlum Place in Greenport, shouting obscenities.

Upon arrival the police found Cindy Goehring shouting and making a ruckus in the middle of the road. They asked her to stop “numerous times,” according to the police report, but were unsuccessful in getting her to pipe down. As a result they were forced to arrest her and transport her to the station. She was processed at police headquarters and held for arraignment.
