From Sag Harbor School District: As part of Fire Prevention Week, Sag Harbor Elementary School students, in grades K-4, took part in several fire safety lessons at the Sag Harbor Firehouse. During their visit to the fire department, the students practiced stop, drop and roll drills, and learned how to properly check for fire behind a closed door and safe evacuation through a window. They also learned the importance of making a family plan and selecting a meeting place in the case of a fire or other emergency.
